Different operating systems have a different way of storing new-line characters in text documents. Windows application tend to store line breaks (new lines) in one way (carriage return/line feed), while Mac OS and Linux/Unix operating systems tend to store line breaks in another way (just a linefeed). This tool basically converts files from the former (CR LF) to the latter (LF), while preserving all other aspects of the text document.
